Léon Breitling founded his manufacture in 1884 in Saint-Imier, in the Swiss Jura, with a precise goal: to build high-precision chronographs and timers for scientists, industries, and athletes. In the following decades, Breitling refined its specialization, becoming the official supplier of wrist instruments for civil and military aviation.
