"Don't crack under pressure." It's not an advertising slogan — it's a philosophy built over 160 years of chronographs on the wrists of drivers, athletes, and anyone who has chosen to measure time at the limit of their abilities.

Saint-Imier, 1860: Precision as an obsession

Edouard Heuer founded his manufacture in 1860 in Saint-Imier — the same city that hosts Longines, in the Swiss Jura. Heuer was not a traditional watchmaker: he was an inventor and an entrepreneur with a fixation on precise time measurement in motion. In 1887, he patented one of the first oscillating pinion mechanisms for chronographs — a technical innovation that became the foundation of the brand's reputation.

For decades, Heuer was the go-to chronograph supplier for the world of motorsport — providing measuring instruments for car races, rallies, and speed competitions of all kinds. It wasn't sponsorship: it was technical supply. Teams and drivers chose Heuer because it worked, not because it paid.

In 1969, Heuer launched the Monaco — a square watch with the first automatic chronograph movement in history, Calibre 11. The same year, Steve McQueen wore it in the film "Le Mans". It is one of the most iconic pairings in the history of cinema and watchmaking — and it turned the Monaco into a cult object that remains so today, fifty years later.

In 1985, the brand was acquired by the TAG group — Techniques d'Avant Garde — and became TAG Heuer. In 1999, it joined the LVMH group, where it still resides alongside Hublot, Bulgari, and Zenith. But the sporty, direct, and uncompromising character that Edouard Heuer built in 1860 has remained intact through all these transitions.

The great watch families

Carrera

The name is inspired by the Carrera Panamericana — the legendary Mexican car race of the 1950s. Launched in 1963, the Carrera is the elegant sports chronograph par excellence: sober yet decisive, technical yet wearable every day. It is the longest-running and most beloved line in the catalog.

Monaco

The square case that made history. Launched in 1969 with the world's first automatic chronograph, made immortal by Steve McQueen in "Le Mans". The Monaco is the most recognizable TAG Heuer watch — bold, immediately identifiable, with a presence on the wrist that leaves no one indifferent.

Aquaracer

The brand's diving watch — robust, legible, with high resistance and a direct sporty character. The Aquaracer brings the TAG Heuer philosophy to the aquatic environment: it's not a watch to show off, it's a watch to use. Available in Professional 300 versions and with integrated chronograph.

Every line carries the same energy — that of a brand that has chosen speed as its territory, challenge as its philosophy, and precision as its promise. TAG Heuer is not a brand for those who want a discreet watch. It is a brand for those who want to be identified with what they wear on their wrist.
